COVID Plumber Update

COVID Plumber Update

COVID-19 has impacted us all and it is something that I never imagined having to deal with in my work as a Maintenance Plumber. With Melbourne now in the middle of Stage 4 restrictions, we are limited to emergency plumbing works only. This includes plumbing needed for safety reasons.

Here at Upkeep Plumbing we have adapted, implemented COVID-19 safe requirements and are ready to assist with any emergency plumbing requirements.

COVID-19 Plumber Safety Protocols

We have implemented the following protocols to keep you safe and to keep us safe:

  • Covid-19 Safe Plan
This plan details the actions we are taking to help prevent the introduction of COVID-19 in our workplace, what personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for our business and how we are prepare to respond to any suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.  A Covid-19 Safe Plan demonstrates how we are meeting all the requirements set out by the Victorian Government during this State of Emergency.
  • Essential Worker Permit
This is a requirement under Stage 4 restrictions. The permit allows Upkeep Plumbing to attend emergency plumbing jobs and carry out essential plumbing works.
  • Workplace Attendance Register
We are now keeping a record of every person we have visited, time of visit, how long we were at the site and the location of the visit. The workplace attendance register is in place so that if by chance there was a case of the virus, every detail of who we have come in contact with is documented and easily traceable.
  • Sanitizer
This one is not new for us. At Upkeep Plumbing we have always carried and used hand sanitizer before and after each and every job.  We always carry hand sanitizer in the car and have increased the cleaning and sanitation of our tools and work vehicle.
  • Face masks
We wear facemasks every time we leave the house. And really, we are just disappointed that we are still waiting for our Melbourne Demon-themed masks to show-up in the mail!
  • Increased Cleaning
We are spending more time cleaning our work car, tools and EFTPOS machine to ensure your safety and ours.
  • Social Distancing While Onsite
Whilst onsite at your home or workplace we are complying with social distancing rules and keep 1.5 meters apart. We also avoid any unnecessary contact such as greeting you with a handshake.

If you require a Plumber for emergency works right now during these strange and uncertain times, please feel free to get in contact.

We are happy to help!
